Successful completion of the Quality Exam is based on an overall satisfaction rating assigned by consumers at the end of the testing period. Three other criteria contribute to the overall satisfaction rating: perceived effectiveness, texture, and fragrance (criteria adapted for certain candidate products).
This rating can be supplemented by bonus points awarded through the Impact Score, which relates to the product’s composition, the packaging’s recyclability rate, and the brand’s/company’s sustainability commitments (United Nations Sustainable Development Goals). Depending on the award for which the candidate product is applying, the required quality threshold varies between 14 and 16/20.
In the event of head-to-head competition within the same distribution channel, only the product with the highest rating is declared the winner.
Note: The Clean, Organic, Bio, and Virtuous & Responsible Awards involve thresholds and constraints that vary depending on the product.
